‘Side Orders’ is a sitcom about the two abiding passions of Pakistanis -- food and marriage. Set in a restaurant in Lahore, the sitcom features Adil, a trained chef recently returned to Pakistan from England. Adil runs the restaurant ‘Side Orders’ with his friend and business partner, Latif. The two have very divergent personalities and vastly differing views on everything which leads to many complicated situations and comic solutions to the many problems arising in the hectic world of a restaurant’s kitchen. On the home-front, Adil is confronted with his Manchester-returned, Punjabi speaking Dadi whose only mission in life is to get Adil married. For this purpose she is willing to go to any extreme, and is aided by Adil’s sister, Saima. Further complicating the scene are Saima’s husband, a D.I.G. in the Police, and Sara, a paying guest. With all these people interfering in his life, Adil often feels he is getting orders from every side, with no one except his trusted old Volkswagon, Laddo, listening to his side of the story
