"The story of Perfume Chowk revolves around a poor neighbourhood and focuses on the lives of the various people residing therein. Kashif, the protagonist of this serial, has the distinction of being the first ever MBA from his area. Despite this, he has been looking desperately for a job for a year, but with no luck. He is in love with Ruby, the prettiest girl in the neighborhood, but so are all the other boys of the locality. Luckily, Ruby is also attracted to him and wants to marry him, but she has one condition – that he should find himself a job first. There are a host of very interesting characters living around these two who play important roles in the serial. There is Mustaqeem, the meat seller; Fareed who is a jack of all trades but committed to none; Yusuf bhai whose general store is the hub of all the goings on in the area; Razia Khala who pokes her nose into everyone’s private affairs, and Shabbir dada, Kashif’s old class fellow, who has earned the distinction of being the local hoodlum.
