International Coffee Day: Here’s what drinking coffee does to your body

Latest   October 1, 2018
October 1 marks International Coffee Day, which celebrates one of the most popular drinks around the world.

Coffee addicts rejoice! Not only will your morning cup of coffee wake you up and prepare you for the rest of your day, it will also serve as a tool in your daily beauty routine.

Drink up; use the remnants to look more radiant, and definitely stock up on more coffee. Here are our favorite ways to incorporate the undercover beauty uses of coffee:

1. Eliminate Puffy Eyes:

Waking up and sleeping at odd hours at work gives unwanted puffy eyes and dark circles. However, coffee grains can help!

Save the grounds from your morning pot of coffee and set them aside to cool. After they have cooled, apply them to the under eye area as well as your eyelids. Keep the grains on for about 20 minutes, and voila – puffiness and dark shading gets minimized!

2. Minimize Cellulite:

One of the biggest struggles we have is getting rid of cellulite. It doesn’t matter what your weight is, all of us have some form of cellulite – and coffee can help you minimize it. Using coffee as a scrub will stimulate the blood flow and also tighten the targeted skin area.

3. Exfoliating:

Have you ever noticed that coffee grounds are the perfect consistency for a great exfoliate? Coffee beans contain caffeic acid, which boosts collagen production. Say hello to new and fresh skin!

4. Brightening Skin:

Coffee can also be used as a skin brightener. For a radiant and glowing complexion, mix two tablespoons of organic yogurt with one tablespoon of ground coffee. Apply the mix to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes.

5. Increase Circulation:

Coffee can be used to rejuvenate your skin and increase your blood circulation, leading to brighter and healthier skin. Freeze brewed coffee (sans sugar) in your ice trays. Use these ice cubes to gently trace your eye area and the rest of your face each morning.
