Wrapping up an eventful year: ‘A look back at the top Social Media Moments of 2017’
With more celebrities being active on social media and using various platforms to interact with their fans, 2017 has been quite an eventful year for all.
When famous and credible personalities take to social media to express themselves, it ensues a different kind of drama altogether.
Here’s a look at some of the top talked about moments of social media in 2017:
1. “Power Di Game”
Mahira Khan and Shoaib Mansoor’s much talked about film “Verna” created many waves on social media. Mahira has had an eventful year on social media and the year came to a befitting end with her film’s release. The film was also banned initially by the Censor Board and many people came out to support Mahira and the film on social media. The film, upon its release, received mixed reviews but all in all, Verna was definitely one of the highest talked about films on social media in 2017.
Tonight I realize how powerful artists are, not those in power. We are. Why else do we get banned? Why else do our films pose a threat to them? In this game of power – we will always win. Art/love/truth always does! #PowerDiGame #verna
